NewYork (Pakistan News Online) The T20 World Cup is underway in the USA and the West Indies, and once again, the Pakistani team finds itself in a precarious situation to qualify for the next stage.

To qualify for the Super 8 stage, Pakistan not only needs to win its match against Ireland but also has to wait for Ireland to defeat the USA.

If the match is drawn due to rain, Pakistan’s journey in the T20 World Cup will come to an end.

Senior sports journalist Syed Yahya Hussaini stated that India will host the T20 World Cup in 2026, and if Pakistan fails to qualify for the Super 8 stage of the current T20 World Cup, it will be a great disappointment as the team will have to go through the qualifying stage instead of participating directly.

Discussing potential changes for the match against Ireland, the senior journalist mentioned that no changes have been announced yet, mainly because the Pakistani team has not had the opportunity for outdoor practice due to rain. However, all hopes are pinned on today’s match.

He added that if Ireland manages to defeat the USA in today’s match, it will be a cause for celebration for Pakistan, rekindling their hopes. He recalled that in the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia, the South African team lost to the Netherlands in a league match, which allowed Pakistan to advance to the next stage.

It should be noted that Pakistan has lost two out of its three matches in the T20 World Cup, while winning one.
