Islamabad (Heatlh Desk) Not eating anything all day during Ramadan and eating too much during Iftar is not good for health because due to intense hunger, we swallow food quickly without chewing it properly, which leads to common problems like bloating, acidity, excess gas and heartburn.
Proper diet
If you break your fast at the end with oily or fatty foods, this habit increases the risk of problems like bloating and gas.
According to experts, dates or water should be consumed first during Iftar. Consuming dates helps to keep blood sugar levels stable while the body can immediately increase physical energy without affecting the digestive system.
Similarly, drinking water after staying away from water for the whole day brings the water level in the body back to normal and helps our stomach to be ready to digest food.
Eating too fast
If you eat too fast during Iftar, you should end up eating too much food, which increases the risk of problems like bloating and excess gas. Chewing your food thoroughly is important because it takes time to process the feeling of fullness.
Consumption of fried foods
Fried foods like pakoras, samosas, etc. look great during Iftar, but eating them in large quantities can lead to problems like acidity, gas, and bloating. Eating these foods puts a strain on the digestive system and makes you feel tired.
It is better to eat less during Iftar because after a long fast, we tend to eat more, but staying in moderation reduces the risk of digestive problems.
sweet foods
Consuming too much sugar after Iftar increases blood sugar levels and this leads to a sudden increase in physical energy, which then leads to a decrease.
Similarly, if you experience excessive fatigue, choose healthy foods such as fruits, dates, or yogurt instead of eating sweets during iftar.
