Abu Dhabi (international Desk) Indian woman Shahzadi Khan was hanged in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the death sentence was carried out in Abu Dhabi on February 15, which was confirmed during the hearing of a petition filed by her father in the Delhi High Court. Judge Sachin Dutta of the court termed the news “extremely sad”.

According to the Press Trust of India, Additional Solicitor General Chetan Sharma told the court proceedings that Shahzadi Khan was hanged on February 15 and her last rites will be performed on March 5.

This information came to light when her father Shabbir Khan filed a petition to know about the well-being of his daughter.

Shahzadi Khan was handed over to Abu Dhabi Police on February 10, 2023 and was sentenced to death on July 31, 2023. She was imprisoned in Al-Wataba Prison.

The petitioner’s lawyer in the court said that her only demand was to know whether her daughter was alive or had been hanged.

He said that on February 14, Shahzadi had called her family from prison and said that she would be hanged in a day or two and that this would be her last call. Since then, the family has not received any news of her well-being.

The petition further stated that Shahzadi had gone to Abu Dhabi in 2021 on a legal visa. In August 2022, a son was born to her employer, for whom Shahzadi was hired to take care of him.

On December 7, 2022, the newborn was given routine vaccinations, after which he died that evening. But the parents held Shahzadi responsible for his death.
