Lahore (Sports Desk) Pakistan cricket team’s interim head coach Aqib Javed has explained the reason for including Faheem Ashraf and Khush dil Shah in the Champions Trophy squad, saying that Khush dil Shah has been included in view of his technique and conditions, while the criticism of Faheem Ashraf’s comeback is unwarranted, He has been given a chance because  he is fast all-rounder.
According to details, in DHA, phase 6, National cricketers trained for the second day in preparation for the tri-nation series at the private sports institute in Lahore, batsmen and bowlers practiced hard in the match scenario.
Addressing a press conference on this occasion, the head coach of the national cricket team, Aaqib Javed, said that the tri-nation series before the Champions Trophy will be helpful. If you get a chance to bat on the center pitch, then the match scenario is more beneficial. Players benefit more from the match scenario compared to the nets. The season in Australia had started and the pitches are difficult.
Aqib Javed called the tri-nation series a gear-up for the preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy and said that only the team playing the tri-nation series will play the Champions Trophy. There will be a change only in case of injury.
Sufyan Muqeem has played only one ODI match. Without Abrar Ahmed, it is not possible to play with 2 spinners. Only one spinner plays in the playing XI. We have the advantage that we are playing in Pakistan. If there is an injury, it is easy to change the spinner. We have the option of a spinner among the top 7 batsmen, he added.
He further said that I think this team will be the final, Faheem Ashraf was included because he also bats with pace, he is good for the all-rounder option.
The interim head coach said that in home conditions, batsmen will have to score 300 plus runs, cricket has become faster, more than 300 scores can be easily made in 50 overs.
Aaqib Javed said that Aamir Jamal was discussed, he did not play many ODIs, Khushdil Shah was discussed even before going to Australia, Khush dil Shah plays well in these conditions, in the absence of Saim Ayub, we had to consider Khush dil Shah.
Regarding the Indian fast bowler, the Pakistani head coach said that due to Jasprit Bumrah’s injury, India should not be worried, Bumrah is a plus point for the Indian team, the beauty of the Champions Trophy is that all teams are equal, everyone has the right to give their opinion.
He further said that we focused on creating combinations and we don’t look at who came after how long and who didn’t. We looked at the combinations. Haseeb ullah was unfit in South Africa. You have to keep a second wicketkeeper because of the connection.
