Riyadh (Pakistan News Online) Saudi Arabia has once again made it clear that relations with Israel will not be normalized without the establishment of a Palestinian state.
A statement issued by the Saudi Foreign Ministry said that the kingdom’s position has always been clear and unwavering.
Daily Pakistan Told Citing Al Arabiya, this statement came at a time when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed hope in a joint press conference with US President Donald Trump that a peace agreement with Saudi Arabia is possible.
Netanyahu said, “I believe that relation between Israel and Saudi Arabia is not only possible, but it is going to become a reality soon.” He said that he and Trump are determined to turn this agreement into a reality.
During the press conference, Trump revealed that he had discussed a plan to evacuate Palestinians from Gaza with some Middle Eastern leaders and that these leaders supported the proposal. “Other leaders have really liked the idea,” Trump said.
However, a day earlier, the foreign ministers of five Arab countries and a senior Palestinian official had sent a joint letter to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, opposing any plan to forcibly evict Palestinians from Gaza.
The letter was signed by the foreign ministers of Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, as well as Hussein al-Sheikh, an adviser to the Palestinian president.
The letter was issued after a meeting of Arab foreign ministers in Cairo, which strongly opposed any plan to forcibly evict Palestinians from the region.
