Lahore (Pakistan News Online) WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging platforms worldwide, with millions of users exchanging messages daily.

Sometimes, we accidentally or hurriedly delete important messages or even an entire chat history with friends, only to later wish we could restore those messages.

Fortunately, deleted WhatsApp chats can be easily restored, provided you have a backup of your WhatsApp data. If your WhatsApp chats are backed up on Google Drive, you can quickly retrieve any deleted conversations.

How to Back Up WhatsApp Messages on Google Drive

To save your WhatsApp messages, follow these steps to create a backup on Google Drive:

  1. Open WhatsApp and tap on the three dots in the top right corner.
  2. Go to “Settings,” then select “Chats,” and choose “Chat backup.”
  3. Tap on “Back up to Google Drive.”

This option will take you to a new page where you can select how often you want to back up your chats—daily, weekly, or monthly—based on your preference.

  1. Link the Google account where you want to store your WhatsApp backup. Once all settings are in place, the backup process will begin according to your selected frequency.

Steps to Restore Deleted WhatsApp Chats from Google Drive

If you accidentally deleted a chat and want to restore it from a Google Drive backup, follow these steps:

  1. First, uninstall WhatsApp from your smartphone.
  2. Reinstall WhatsApp from the Google Play Store.
  3. Open the app and verify your phone number.

Once the app recognizes your number, it will automatically detect any previous backups saved on Google Drive. You will receive a prompt asking if you want to restore your chats.

  1. Click on “Restore” and wait for the process to complete. Your deleted messages will be restored, and you’ll be able to access them again.

With these steps, you can easily retrieve your deleted WhatsApp messages and ensure your chat history is safely backed up for future reference.
