New York (Pakistan News Online) Zulfi Bukhari, a close friend of PTI founder Imran Khan, has stated he intends to raise issues of alleged injustices faced by Khan and his party with Donald Trump’s team if Trump assumes the U.S. presidency.
In a conversation with The News, Bukhari shared that he is in contact with Trump’s team members and family, according to a report by investigative editor Ansar Abbasi.
Bukhari mentioned that Trump has previously expressed concern over Imran Khan’s sentencing, and he holds a sympathetic view toward the PTI leader. Bukhari said he would engage with Trump’s team, including his daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner, to address the perceived injustices towards Khan and his party, especially regarding Khan’s imprisonment.
When asked if he plans to seek Khan’s release directly from Trump, Bukhari responded that his focus would be on discussing broader human rights and democratic issues, highlighting the current state of rule of law in Pakistan, particularly in Khan’s case.
Earlier, PTI leader Ali Muhammad Khan said that Imran Khan expressed his joy over Trump’s potential victory, recalling their friendly relationship and ongoing communication during Khan’s time as Prime Minister.
