Islamabad (Pakistan News Online) Pakistan has extended the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur agreement with India for another 5 years.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that the agreement came into existence on October 24, 2019, which has been extended. She said that the extension of the agreement is a manifestation of Pakistan’s commitment to promote religious harmony and peace.
Daily Pakistan Told that She further said that under the agreement visa free entry facility is available to those coming from India to Darbar Sahib Kartarpur, through the Kartarpur Corridor, thousands of pilgrims benefit from the pilgrimage to their holy place.
The spokesperson of the Foreign Office said that Pakistan considers the Kartarpur Corridor as a corridor of hope. It may be recalled that Pakistan took a historic step and opened the Kartarpur Corridor for Sikh pilgrims on the 550th birth anniversary of the founder of Sikhism, Baba Guru Nanak, which was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister Imran Khan on November 9, 2019.
