Islamabad (Pakistan News online) the district administration of Islamabad issued a letter of powers given to the army in view of the fear of peace amid PTI protest.
The administrations of Islamabad and Rawalpindi have imposed Section 144 in the twin cities and deployed other law enforcement agencies including the army in view of the fear of disruption of peace during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting.
Now the administration of Islamabad has also issued a letter regarding the powers available to the army during deployment in the federal capital.
It is stated in the post issued by the district administration that if the situation becomes tense, the army will have powers of action; the local commander will take action together with the federal police.
The post said that the army has been empowered to take action against miscreants and arrest them.
The district administration says that the army will be allowed to use lathi charge and tear gas against the protesters, force will be used to a minimum, and the army will take action on the presence of miscreants or threats.
It is also worth mentioning here that Tehreek-e-Insaf) PTI) is protesting and Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that PTI is plotting to sabotage the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting but we will not allow it.
