Islamabad (Pakistan News Online) Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has decided to block the SIM issued on the identity cards of deceased people from October 15.
Deadlines for blocking SIM cards
According to the details, in this regard, the statement issued by the PTA has said that all the SIMs issued on the identity cards of deceased people should be immediately transferred to their heirs names, otherwise will be blocked from October 15, those sims which were issued on the computerized national identity card number of deceased persons.
The statement further said that the users of such sims are instructed to transfer these sims to their names.
How to avoid sim block
To transfer these sims to their names, the users need to present the original death certificate of their deceased loved one and the official certificate of relationship with the deceased.
After verifying the documents, the concerned franchise will transfer the SIM issued on the deceased person’s CNIC to the name of his/her loved one.
