Saudi Arab dismisses Lieutenant General Khalid bin Qarar over corruption charges

Riyadh (Pakistan News Online) A Saudi Arab’s court has dismissed Lieutenant General Khalid bin Qarar Al-Harbi from his position on serious corruption charges, according to international news agencies.

Lieutenant General Al-Harbi faced accusations of abuse of power, bribery, embezzlement, and forgery. Prosecutors presented undeniable evidence, and the accused also confessed to his crimes.

The court ordered the confiscation of more than 10 million riyals in the forms of gifts and agricultural land as bribes, based on solid evidence. In addition, Al-Harbi was sentenced to 20 years in prison with a fine of 1 million riyals.
The seizure property and fines will be paid to the treasury of the state, according to the decree of the court.
The Saudi Ministry of Justice assured that such practices like bribery, corruption and misuse of power are strictly an absolute no-no as equal laws apply one and all.
