Now Chairman PTA Major General (retd) Hafeezur Rehman has said that 5G service will be introduced in the country by April 2025. Earlier ex Caretaker Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Dr Umar Saif stated that 5G services in Pakistan would be launched by July-August 2024.
According to latest update in this regard, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Chairman Major General (retd) Hafeezur Rehman has told the National Assembly Standing Committee on IT and Telecom that 5G service will be introduced in the country by April 2025 during. This meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on IT and Telecom was held on Thursday.
During the briefing Chairman PTA said that efforts are being made to attract new companies through this auction to expand the market and increase competition. Chairman of PTA also told in the meeting that the restoration of the submarine cable is in progress and is expected to be completed by August 27.
After the up gradation of internet services, no further disruption is expected, which will provide better internet services to the users, further told.
