Lahore (Pakistan News Online) Reports of conflicts within Pakistan’s World Cup squad have emerged, revealing that the team has split into two groups.
According to sources, half of the players are supporting Babar Azam while the other half are backing Shaheen Afridi. Additionally, the captain, coach, and selector Wahab Riaz are reportedly not on the same page.
Sources have also indicated that Babar Azam’s captaincy will be at risk if the team fails to reach the Super Eight stage.
Meanwhile, this will be the last chance for consistently underperforming players Iftikhar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Shadab Khan, and Usman Khan to prove themselves.
It has been mentioned that after the World Cup, there will be consideration to replace the seven-member selection committee with a new selection committee and a new chief selector.
It is noteworthy that the national cricket team has lost its first two matches in the T20 World Cup. They faced an upset defeat by the inexperienced USA and failed to chase a simple target against India.
