New Delhi (international Desk) A new development has emerged in the divorce petition between Indian cricket team member and spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma. It should be noted that Chahal represents Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
According to media reports, the Bombay High Court on Wednesday lifted the 6-month cooling-off period applicable to the divorce petition of cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma under the Hindu Marriage Act and directed the family court to pronounce its decision on the petition by Thursday.
The report said that the single bench of Justice Madhav Jamdar said that the Indian cricketer will not be available after March 21 as he has to participate in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL), so the petition should be disposed of as soon as possible.
Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma had filed a petition for divorce by mutual consent in the family court on February 5 this year. In the petition, they had said that the 6-month ban should be lifted as they want to get a divorce by mutual consent. However, the family court rejected their petition on February 20. Later, both of them appealed against the decision in the family court of the High Court.
Under the Hindu Marriage Act, every couple is required to undergo a 6-month ban (cooling-off period) before being granted a divorce so that differences can be resolved.
Admitting their petition, Justice Jamdar of the High Court said that since the petitioner Chahal will not be available after March 21, the family court is requested to pronounce its decision on their divorce petition by today (March 20).
On the other hand, amidst the news of his divorce from wife Dhanashree Verma, cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal was seen with his friend RJ Mehwish during the Champions Trophy final, whose photos and videos went viral.
Seeing the closeness of the two to each other, dating rumors were circulating, but the actress has denied this.
