New Delhi (Pakistan News) Indian actress Rania Rao’s bail application in the gold smuggling case has been rejected.
The Kannada film industry actress was arrested at the Bangalore airport earlier this month and accused of smuggling gold from Dubai.
Rania Rao’s bail application was rejected by the Special Economic Offences Court, citing the seriousness of the charges.
Justice Svanath Gowda agreed with the prosecution and did not grant bail to the actress and ordered her to be kept in judicial custody.
Rania Rao was arrested from the Bangalore airport on March 4 with Rs 12.5 crore and was later sent to 14-day judicial custody.
After the actress’s arrest, raids were also conducted on her properties, from where gold worth over Rs 2 crore and cash worth over Rs 2.5 crore were recovered.
After Rania Rao’s bail was rejected, the legal team has started preparing to approach the sessions court.
The actress had used her husband’s credit card for a ticket to Dubai, so there are chances that her husband will be included in the investigation based on suspicions.
