Waqar Naseem Wamiq, Riyadh – The Pakistani Embassy in Saudi Arabia recently hosted a lively celebration to commemorate Pakistan Day and the historic Lahore Resolution of March 23, 1940.
This colorful event saw the attendance of senior Saudi officials, foreign ambassadors, military attaches, and a large number of the Pakistani community.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of Dr. Faisal bin Abdul Aziz, Under-Secretary of the Riyadh Region Governorate, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
General (retd) Raheel Sharif, Commander of the Islamic Military Alliance honored the occasion with his graceful presence.
International diplomatic community, ambassadors and military representatives from various countries were also present on the occasion.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Farooq, warmly welcomed the guests and emphasized the significance of Pakistan Day. In his speech, he reflected on the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the sacrifices made by Muslims during the struggle for independence. “Pakistan is a great nation that emerged within seven years of the Lahore Resolution, and today, it plays a pivotal role in the world while making strides in development,” he said.
Ambassador Farooq also highlighted the deep-rooted and historic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He noted that the bilateral relationship between the two countries continues to strengthen, with increasing cooperation in various fields. “The leadership of both nations stands firmly with each other, and the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia is actively contributing to the development of the Kingdom,” he added.
The event featured live performances and musical renditions by a band, adding to the festive atmosphere. Attendees, including members of the Pakistani community and foreign guests, praised the celebration and expressed their admiration for Pakistan’s role in promoting global peace and security.
The Pakistan Day celebration not only highlighted the rich history and achievements of Pakistan but also showcased the strong bond between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, reaffirming their commitment to mutual growth and cooperation.
