Dubai (Sports Desk) In the fifth match of the Champions Trophy 2025, Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami held the unwanted record of bowling the longest over.

According to the details, at the beginning of the match, Shami bowled five wide balls in the first over, due to which he had to bowl an over of eleven balls. With this, he became the Indian bowler to bowl the longest over in the Champions Trophy, before that this record was held by Jasprit Bumrah, who bowled a nine-ball over against Pakistan in the 2017 final.
According to NDTV, Mohammed Shami holds the record for bowling the most five wide balls in the first over in the history of the Champions Trophy, while earlier Zimbabwe’s Tinashe Panyangara bowled the most seven wide balls in an over.
Shami did not look at his best during the match and left the field for a while after seeking physiotherapy in the third over, however, he later returned to the field to bowl again.
