ISLAMABAD (Business Desk) The Senate Finance Committee has approved increasing the salaries of senators to Rs 519,000 butThere will be no increase in the salaries of the Chairman Senate and Deputy Chairman.
According to News Agency INP, The meeting of the Senate Finance Committee was held at the Parliament House under the chairmanship of Acting Chairman Senate Syedal Khan Nasir.
Saleem Mandviwala, Shahadat Awan, Senator Liaquat Khan and others attended the meeting but Opposition Leader Shibli Faraz and Maulana Atta-ur-Rehman did not attend the Finance Committee meeting.
After the meeting, Senator Saleem Mandviwala confirmed the approval of the increase in the salaries of Senate members.
He told that we have also approved the increase in salaries as per the decision of the National Assembly. Under the act passed by the Parliament, the salary of Senate members will also be equal to that of National Assembly members.
The increase in the salaries of Senate members will be effective from January 1. There will be no increase in the salaries of the Senate Chairman and Deputy Chairman.
