Dubai (Pakistan News Online) Indian bowler Mohammed Shami has broken the record for the fastest 200 wickets in ODI cricket by taking wickets in his first match of the Champions Trophy 2025 against Bangladesh.
According to the details, Mohammed Shami has achieved this feat in 5126 balls, which is the lowest for any bowler, while Mitchell Starc had set the record by taking 200 wickets in 5240 balls.
If we look at the number of matches, Mohammed Shami and Saqlain Mushtaq are jointly second with 200 wickets in 104 ODI matches, while Mitchell Starc achieved this feat in 102 matches.
On the other hand Indian team captain Rohit Sharma became the 10th player to score fastest 11,000 runs in the ODI format. Rohit Sharma crossed this milestone in the second match of the Champions Trophy played against Bangladesh in Dubai.
This feat was achieved by the Indian captain in 261 innings. Previously, Sachin Tendulkar (India), Inzamam-ul-Haq (Pakistan), Sanath Jayasuriya (Sri Lanka), Sourav Ganguly (India), Ricky Ponting (Australia), Jacques Kallis (South Africa), Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka), Mahela Jayawardene (Sri Lanka) and Virat Kohli (India) have achieved it.
It should be noted that Virat Kohli holds the record for the fastest time to complete 11,000 runs (222 matches), while Rohit Sharma has become the second fastest batsman to achieve this feat.
