Islamabad (Pakistan News online) Details of Pakistanis released from saudi jails after the Saudi Crown Prince’s visit to Pakistan have revealed. It is worth remembering that the Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman visited Pakistan in February 2019 during the Imran Khan government.
According to private TV Geo News, in the Question Hour of the Senate session, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented the details of Pakistanis released after the Saudi Crown Prince’s visit to Pakistan in its written reply to the House. During the last 6 years from 2019 to 2024, 7,208 Pakistani prisoners were released from Saudi jails.
The reply stated that 545 in 2019, 892 in 2020, 916 in 2021, 1331 in 2022, 1394 in 2023 and 2130 Pakistani prisoners were released from Saudi jails last year in 2024.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that it is difficult to know the distribution and actual number of those who have been pardoned due to the continuous influx of prisoners and deportation.
According to the written response, 23,456 Pakistanis are imprisoned in prisons of different countries, of which the largest number of Pakistanis are in prisons in the Gulf countries, while 12,156 are imprisoned in Saudi Arabia, 5,292 in the UAE, 811 in Greece and 338 in Qatar.
