Hyderabad (Pakistan News online) A private university has been protested over allegations of video recording in the girls’ hostel bathroom.
According to the police, some female students of a private engineering college complained that someone had made secret videos in the bathroom of their hostel.
According to the Press Trust of India, a college official said that on Wednesday, the girls complained that someone had made videos from the bathroom window.
Initial investigation has found negligence on the part of the college administration as the rooms for the workers were built behind the girls’ hostel.
The matter led to protests on the campus on Wednesday night and Thursday, in which members of various student organizations also joined.
Some protesters broke the lock of the college gate while some tried to enter the campus by jumping the gate and raising slogans of “We want justice”.
A team reached the spot after being informed to the police. The affected students also suspected that videos had been made in the girls’ bathroom before.
The police detained five suspects and collected their fingerprints, while their mobile phones were also taken for analysis.
However, no video has been found yet. The college has formed a committee to investigate the matter.
