Mumbai (Pakistan News online) Gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s alleged key aide Danish Merchant alias Danish Chikna has been arrested by the Indian police in a drug case.
The accused was allegedly in charge of Dawood’s drug activities in the Dongri area and was arrested along with his accomplice.
According to Indian media, Mumbai Police said that the arrest of the accused came after a months-long investigation that began with the arrest of two accused, Mohammad Ashiq-ur-Rehman and Rehan Shakeel Ansari, last month.
According to NDTV, the series of arrests began on November 8, when Ashiq-ur-Rehman was arrested near Marine Lines Station with 144 grams of drugs.
During interrogation, Ashiq revealed that the drugs were obtained from Ansari in Dongri. Acting on this information, the police arrested Ansari and seized another 55 grams of drugs.
Ansari further said that these drugs were supplied by Danish Merchant and his accomplice Qadir Fanta.
Now, through a careful operation, both of them were arrested. During interrogation, both of them confessed to their involvement in this drug racket.
