Dubai (Pakistan News Online) United Arab Emirates (UAE) has disclosed the reasons behind imposing visa restrictions on Pakistani citizens. The decision comes amid allegations of criticism of UAE government policies, protests, and evidence of involvement in illegal activities, including document forgery, begging, and criminal behavior.

According to reports, the frequency of such incidents is reportedly higher among Pakistanis compared to other nationalities. UAE officials have shared their concerns and documentary evidence with the Pakistani ambassador, and a detailed report has been sent to Pakistani authorities.

According to official documents shared by the UAE with the Pakistani Embassy, the proposal to impose visa restrictions was discussed during a cabinet meeting following complaints and observed behavior of some Pakistani citizens.

The documents indicate that Pakistanis were allegedly involved in activities perceived negatively in the UAE, such as protests, criticism of UAE policies on social media, and the misuse of online platforms. These actions are seen as damaging to the UAE’s image, with complaints against Pakistanis occurring at a higher rate compared to other nationalities.

Furthermore, there have been allegations of forgery involving identity documents, including altered ID cards and passports. The document also highlights involvement in criminal activities such as theft, fraud, begging, prostitution, and drug-related offenses, which are reportedly more prevalent among Pakistani nationals compared to other communities.

UAE authorities have informed the Pakistani ambassador of these concerns and emphasized that the decision to impose visa restrictions was made after careful consideration at the highest levels of the UAE government.
