Lahore (Pakistan News Online) Pakistani actress Dur-e-Fishan Saleem recently shared her thoughts about her unique name and revealed her mother’s strong feelings about it.
Dur-e-Fishan Saleem, an actress who quickly gained recognition in the showbiz industry, captivated audiences with her remarkable acting skills and charming personality. Though she has had several successful dramas, it was the drama Ishq Murshid, where she starred alongside Bilal Abbas, that truly skyrocketed her fame.
Some of Dur-e-Fishan’s other notable dramas include Bharaas, Jesi Aapki Marzi, Pardes, Juram and Judaa Huay Kuch Is Tarah.
The meaning of Dur-e-Fishan is “sparkling, magnificent, dazzling, worth seeing, or one who sheds pearls.” In a recent social media interview clip, Dur-e-Fishan spoke about her name and how she felt about it.

She said, “No one I know calls me Dur-e-Fishan, only my parents use my full name.”
Dur-e-Fishan explained that in school, she was called by various names, and people often used nicknames like “Fishi,” “Durri,” “Duriya,” “Duri,” and “Fishan.”
Her mother, however, disapproved of these nicknames. “She didn’t like it when people didn’t use my full name,” Dur-e-Fishan said. “She would say, ‘It’s such a beautiful name, call her Dur-e-Fishan.’”
She further added, “Initially, I didn’t like my name, but as I grew older, I started to appreciate it more. It’s unique and beautiful.”
