Riyadh (Pakistan News Online) The northern region of Al-Jawf in Saudi Arabia has been covered with snow for the first time in history after heavy rains and hailstorms earlier this week.

It is an unusual occurrence for a region in a country whose vast desert areas rarely experience winter.

According to a Saudi media report, heavy rain and hailstorms in Al-Jawf earlier this week not only caused snowfall but also gave new life to the dry valleys of the region.

In this region, only wild flowers used to bloom in the spring season, but now fragrant plants and seasonal flowers are expected to grow here in the coming months.

The Saudi Meteorological Department has issued a warning of stormy rains in the region and its surroundings in view of the climate change taking place in Al-Jawf.

According to the Saudi Meteorological Department, more thunderstorms and hailstorms are expected in this area in the coming days, along with the rain and hail, strong winds may also blow, which may affect travel.

Local authorities have also issued instructions to residents to take precautionary measures in view of this unusual change in the region’s weather. It is important to mention here that this unusual change in Saudi Arabia’s weather is part of a wider climate change that has affected many Arab countries.
