Maryam Ali Hussain breaks silence over allegations of illicit relation with Majid Bashir

Lahore (Pakistan News Online) Maryam Ali Hussain, daughter of Abida Usmani and ex-wife of television personality Aftab Iqbal, has broken her silence over accusations made by actress Nargis, wife of Inspector Majid Bashir. Nargis alleged that Maryam had an inappropriate relationship with her husband, sparking a social media uproar. In response, Maryam clarified that the accusations were false, stating, “Majid Bashir is like a brother to me.”

Speaking in a recent interview, Maryam revealed that she was unaware her name was being dragged into the conflict between Nargis and her husband. “I have never worked on stage and have always respected Nargis due to my mother,” she said, adding, “Majid Bashir and I have no relationship, and he is like a brother to me.”

Maryam explained that Nargis would frequently invite her and her family over to their home, and that mutual respect was maintained. “If someone plants seeds of doubt in your mind, you cannot base accusations on mere suspicion,” Maryam said, noting that similar misunderstandings had been previously clarified.

Maryam further addressed her background, highlighting her dignified past with her ex-husband Aftab Iqbal, stating, “I never sought cheap fame or publicized my personal life, whether it was marriage or divorce.” The allegations, she emphasized, are baseless, adding that her family and children have been deeply hurt by the public slander.

Maryam expressed her frustration, questioning why she was being involved in an internal issue between Nargis and Majid Bashir. “My mother and children are affected by this; watching these stories on YouTube has been distressing for them.”

Emphasizing her integrity, Maryam clarified that she does not lack financial stability and has never needed to rely on others financially. She mentioned that she had been receiving threats and was willing to take legal action if the accusations continued. “If this continues, I will go to court. Filing a case is my right,” she concluded, defending herself against the scandalous allegations.
