McLaren Unveils W1, £2 Million Hypercar Successor to P1

New York- McLaren has made waves in the sports car world by launching its new hypercar, the W1, priced at £2 million.

According to details, The vehicle is being hailed as the successor to the P1. The W1 is the third ‘1’ model from the British luxury car manufacturer, following the F1 and P1 models.

This car is set to be incredibly fast, achieving a speed of 0 to 186 mph in under 13 seconds. McLaren has announced that only 399 units of this car will be produced, but unfortunately, if you are looking to buy this stunning vehicle, you are too late, as all units have already been sold.

The W1 is truly regarded as the successor to the P1, which was part of the “holy trinity” of hypercars launched in 2013, including the LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder. The P1 was the successor to the legendary F1 model designed by renowned designer Gordon Murray.

The W1 will be the fastest car ever made by McLaren, surpassing models like the Senna and Speedtail. Weighing in at 1,399 kilograms, it features Formula 1 aerodynamics and a new twin-turbo 4-liter V8 hybrid engine that produces 1,258 horsepower, making it the most powerful engine in McLaren’s history.

This remarkable car accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.7 seconds and from 0 to 124 mph in 5.8 seconds, while achieving 0 to 186 mph in 12.7 seconds. Despite its outstanding performance figures, McLaren claims that this car is equally comfortable on the road and track, making it a supercar for all occasions.

The car includes a drive mode selection feature that allows owners to choose between Comfort, Sport, and Race modes, each optimized for different driving conditions. With advanced aerodynamics, the car has undergone 350 hours of wind tunnel testing, resulting in an F1-inspired underfloor, Aerocell carbon fiber monocoque, and 3D-printed suspension. The vehicle’s price is approximately £2 million, which may vary based on customization options.

The 1.4kWh battery allows for 1.6-miles of EV range and silent start-up, and improved performance.

The exterior design of the W1 is wrapped around the focal Aerocell – the carbonfibre tub –with everything else made to shave seconds off the time: the A-pillars are the are the thinnest ever, there’s no rear window and the anhedral doors (gullwing but not called gullwing) and that Active Long Tail rear wing.
