Lieutenant General Asim Malik appointed as new DG ISI

Rawalpindi ( Pakistan News online) Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik has been appointed as Director General (DG) of Pakistan’s top spy agency (ISI).

According to Geo News, Asim Malik will assume his new office charge on September 30. He is currently serving as Adjutant General at GHQ.

Lt Gen Asim Malik has previously commanded the Infantry Division in Baluchistan and the Infantry Brigade in Waziristan, apart from this he has also been posted as Chief Instructor NDU and Instructor Command and Staff College Quetta.

New DG ISI is also a graduate of Fort Leavenworth and the Royal College of Defense Studies, receiving the Sword of Honor in his course.

Lieutenant General Asim Malik comes from a military family. His father, Lieutenant General Ghulam Muhammad, also served as a high-ranking officer in the Pakistan Army. Lieutenant General Ghulam Muhammad was appointed as the Corps Commander of Rawalpindi during his service.
