Washington (Pakistan News) The US has clarified its policy regarding the ban on the Pak Iran gas pipeline project.
Express told citing international news agency, the spokesman of the US State Department Matthew Miller said in the weekly press briefing that the sanctions will continue to be imposed on Iran.
A journalist asked that Iran has warned Pakistan of a possible $18 billion fine notice on the gas pipeline project, while the USA has also warned Pakistan that it will face sanctions if it completes the project.
US spokesperson responded that we certainly advise any country or person considering trade agreements with Iran to be aware of the potential impact on these deals in the context of US sanctions.
Matthew Miller also said that helping Pakistan meet its energy deficit is also a US priority and we will continue to engage with Pakistan to overcome the energy crisis.
