Islamabad (Pakistan News Online) The Federal Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has issued a clarification regarding the news circulating about a public holiday on September 6, Pakistan’s Defense Day.

A notification being circulated on the social media claimed the latter day to be a public holiday for celebrating the Defense Day. The Ministry has rejected the notification as fake. “There would not be any sort of public holiday on September 6 as the offices will remain open.”.

The Ministry emphasized that September 6 is observed as Defense Day in remembrance of the 1965 war, during which the brave soldiers of the Pakistan Army repelled Indian forces and defeated their ambitions.

On this day, the nation will pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the country, and various official ceremonies will be held to honor their contributions.
