Lahore (Pakistan News) Unmarried young men and women met in Lahore, the capital of Punjab, in a unique gathering with the hope of finding a life partner. This was quite different from the usual tradition of arranged marriages in a country like Pakistan, as self-arranged marriages have been allowed to take place.

The event, organized by the Islamic dating app ‘Muzmatch,’ now rebranded as ‘Muzz,’ saw participation from 100 unmarried men and women, all seeking potential life partners. The app’s female administrators managed the event, which provided a platform for direct interaction between the participants.

These people were between 20 to 35 years old and consisted of university students and professionals. Interest for this gathering was shown by these people through the app itself. This event allowed the matched persons to meet with their potential partners physically, which was more hands-on toward finding their future spouse.

A participant named Aiman shared that her brother, who resides in the United States, recommended she use the app. She had been using it for some time and had already made connections with a few individuals. Similarly, a male participant mentioned that he had also been using the app for a while, but many of the girls he interacted with insisted on involving their parents from the very first day, which hindered any potential progress.

Muzz, the app behind the event, claims to promote relationships in line with Islamic and Pakistani traditions. With over 1.5 million users in Pakistan, the app is especially popular in Muslim-majority countries and among Muslim communities worldwide. It operates outside the United Kingdom and is the second most popular in Pakistan after Morocco.
