Karachi (Pakistan News) Judicial Magistrate (East) Muhammad Raza Ansari has ordered the suspect in the Karsaz road accident case Natasha Danish Iqbal to be sent to jail, rejecting the request for physical remand. The court has instructed the investigation officer to submit the charge sheet within 14 days.

Natasha Iqbal, the suspect, who was presented under strict security with her face covered during hearing, informed the court that she was not subjected to any police torture. The defense lawyer argued that the charges against the suspect are bailable.

However, the investigation officer stated that the addition of Section 322 (causing death by negligence) makes the charges non-bailable.

The prosecutor opposed the request for physical remand, stating it was unnecessary and suggested sending the suspect to jail instead. The court accepted this recommendation and ordered her judicial remand.

The investigation officer has been directed to submit the case’s charge sheet within 14 days, following judicial policy.

Outside the court, the complainant, Imtiaz Arif, expressed his resolve to seek justice, questioning why drug users should be allowed to drive recklessly, endangering the lives of ordinary people. He highlighted that the deceased, Amna, was highly educated with many dreams.

The complainant’s lawyer, Barrister Uzair Ghori, noted that the addition of Section 322 to the case is a significant success and suggested that the car owner should also be included in the case if the suspect is proven to be mentally ill.

The defense plans to challenge any bail application and will request the formation of a medical board to assess the suspect’s mental condition.
