Lahore (Pakistan News) The first Super Blue Moon of 2024 will grace the skies tonight.

According to SUPARCO, the event will occur at 11:26 PM (PST) and will be visible across Pakistan as well as around the world.

SUPARCO also announced that three more Super Moons will be visible this year, on September 18, October 17, and November 15.

A Blue Moon occurs when there are four full moons in a single season, with the Super Blue Moon on August 19 being the third in this sequence. Blue Moons are rare, occurring every two to three years.

According to NASA, the next Super Blue Moon won’t be seen until January 2037.

A Super Blue Moon combines two distinct astronomical events: a Super Moon and a Blue Moon, occurring on the same date.

During this phenomenon, the moon is at its closest point to Earth, approximately 226,000 miles away. As a result, the moon appears 14% larger and 30% brighter than an average full moon.
