Istanbul (Pakistan News) Fights happen even in happy couples but how to prevent it from escalating depends on your language. Yes indeed if you are having a heated argument with your spouse, just take a 5 second silence or pause, it can prevent it from escalating further.

This was revealed in a new study. This study from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland reported that a short period of silence or pause during an argument works to extinguish the fire, making the fight more intense. According to research, just 5 seconds of silence is just as effective as longer breaks.

The researchers said that this is the first time that experiments have shown that a few seconds of pause during a fight can help to stop it. The results show that even a few seconds of silence can stop marital fights. They say it’s a simple, free and effective way to reduce negative emotions during a fight and make it an easy part of everyday life to go on.

For this study, several couples participated in a game in which one person made unpleasant noises to the partner. The couples participated in 30 rounds of the game and were instructed to take breaks at various times.

Advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies were used to analyze the emotional response. The results showed that although heated arguments between couples become intense, but after a short break, the situation is quite normal.

The researchers admit that this strategy is somewhat limited, but it can prevent minor conflicts from escalating into serious ones. The results of the study were published in the journal Nature.
