Kamala Harris choses Tim Walz as vice president

Washington DC (Pakistan News) Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate in the US presidential elections, has chosen Tim Walz as his vice president.

According to details Tim Walls currently serving as a governer of Minnesota, However the official announcement is scheduled to take place on Tuesday during a campaign rally in Philadelphia.

In the upcoming November 5 election, Harris will be facing Republican candidate Donald Trump, while Walz will compete against Trump’s running mate, Ohio Senator J.D. Vance.

Kamala Harris conducted interviews with several Democratic leaders for the vice-presidential position, including Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Arizona Senator Mark Kelly. Ultimately, Harris decided on Tim Walz.

Before the formal nomination, Trump’s campaign labeled Walz an “incompetent liberal.” The campaign’s press secretary stated that no one should be surprised by Harris’ choice of Walz, accusing him of spreading California’s “dangerous liberal agenda.”

Tim Walz, 60, was born in Nebraska and first elected to Congress from Minnesota in 2006. He served in the Army National Guard for 24 years before entering politics. Walz has also been a social studies teacher, football coach, and union member. He won the gubernatorial race in 2018 with the slogan “One Minnesota.”

Vice President Kamala Harris is currently on her campaign trail, with a stop in Philadelphia on Tuesday, followed by visits to Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona, and Nevada.

President Biden, who withdrew from the presidential race, endorsed Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate, a move that was subsequently ratified by the Democratic Party. Biden’s decision to step down came after mounting pressure due to his underwhelming performance in the first presidential debate.
